About the Item
A stunning panorama of the mountains surrounding Los Angeles, this painting is the jewel of the Ronald Shap Collection. The pastel flowers in the foreground offer a lush and verdant view of California in early spring. 20x30" oil on canvas, placed in 3.5 inch vintage wood frame. Total size: 25.5x36 inch. Signed. Framed.
Close inspection shows the bottom-left corner of the frame was cracked and repaired, and the paint on the frame has rubbed off throughout, please see final four photos.

Ronald Shap was born in Toledo, OH and lived most of his life in California. Ronald was a scholarship award graduate at the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1964 and completed graduate study in painting at the University of Nebraska and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1967. He was a visiting artist and instructor at BGSU in 1973-74 and worked out of his Los Angeles studio and taught drawing and anatomy at Citrus College until his retirement in 2005.

Ronald Shap was born in Toledo, OH and lived most of his life in California. The brother of acclaimed portrait artist Sylvia Shap, he was a scholarship award graduate at the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1964 and completed graduate study in painting at the University of Nebraska and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1967. He was a visiting artist and instructor at BGSU in 1973-74 and worked out of his Los Angeles studio and taught drawing and anatomy at Citrus College until his retirement in 2005.
