A beautiful 1940's French oil on board by Rosette Chicotot depicting figures in a North African town, possibly Marrakech.
The work is signed lower left and presented in a silvered frame. Presented in very goood original condition.
Artist: Rosette Chicotot (French, 1885-?)

Size: 21 x 18 inches (54 x 46 cm) including the frame
Rosette Chicotot was born in Paris in 1885. She was a student of Jean-Paul Laurens, François Schommer and Gistave Guiillonet.
Chicotot exhibited frequently at the Salon des Artistes Français of which she was a member. She painted scenic, figurative genre paintings, still life's and nudes in a post-impressionist style.
