About the Item
An idyllic oil landscape by the renowned landscape painter, Rowland Henry Hill. The painting show s a peaceful countryside scene, with a glassy river winding into the distance with verdant banks lined with trees and meadows. There is a church, nestled among a copse of trees on the right bank. Fluffy white clouds cross the pale blue sky above, completing this picturesque view of the English countryside in the height of Summer.
The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in an ornate, mid Century frame with foliate molding, swept rail and corners and a plaque with the artist's name. There is a gallery label at the reverse.
