"Lazy Day in the Country" - Mid Century Pastoral Farm Landscape with Barn
Pastoral mid-century landscape of a farm with an old barn by Shirley Gilman (American, 1924-2008), circa 1960's. The barn and a shed sit at the top of a small hill. There is a fenced-in area where animals could be let out to graze. Beyond the barn, there are lush green trees.
Signed "Shirley Gilman" lower left and titled "Lazy Day in the Country" on verso.
Presented in a giltwood frame.

Canvas size: 24"H x 36"W
Shirley Gilman was born in Conneaut, Ohio. She was a resident of Los Gatos, California where she began painting nature and still life scenes. Gilman was very involved in the music and art community, was an avid painter, and enjoyed painting nature scenes inspired by the beauty of the Redwood Forest and the dogwood trees in bloom each spring.
