Yellow Light Woods is an oil painting on canvas painted by Texan painter Steve Parker. This painting is of the woods in the back of the Houston Arboretum on Woodway Drive in Houston, Texas. In the back of the Houston Arboretum is the famous Buffalo Bayou. This was painted in the fall near Buffalo Bayou as the leaves were beginning to turn colors. The 93-mile-long Conejos River, a tributary of the Rio Grande, drains the eastern San Juan Mountains, which features some of the San Luis Valley’s most incredible scenery. It’s basically home to every type of trout imaginable, and it’s not hard to see why fly-fishermen come from all over the American West to check out the Conejos.
