About the Item

A beautiful oil on canvas painting by the French artist, Te Pencke. Pencke was a Parisian painter known for his colorful cityscapes depicting the times of his generation. His work is comparable to those of Jules Herve, Antoine Blanchard and Edouard Cortes. This painting is a wonderful example of his work from the prime of his career. Here you see a busy warm day, with life along the Grands Boulevards of Paris. People are scattered throughout with shops and cafes between the tree lined street as horses and carriages ride along. The details are magnificent as Pencke captures the architecture of Paris so beautifully; you can feel the energy of the day and the excitement. The painting is signed lower left by the artist and it comes housed in the original ornate style gold tone frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 30 x 40 inches Frame measures 39 x 49 inches PROVENANCE: Estate of a Private collection New York; Lilac Gallery Collection. The piece will be stamped from Lilac Gallery on its verso
