A finely-drawn Kano School watercolor and gouache showing figures in kimonos on a bridge and seated beside a stylized river flowing through a graceful garden. An elegantly formal composition, painted circa 1880 by a skilled hand, using harmonious pigments with clouds of burnished copper and gold leaf dusting.
