A wonderful impasto study of Vézelay Abbey in Burgundy, France. This Benedictine and Cluniac monastery is located in Vézelay in the east-central French department of Yonne. The view is captured from ground level, looking up through a cluster of trees planted in a courtyard. The work is rendered in hues of pink and brown. Signed to the lower left. Artist label to the reverse inscribed with the location. On canvas on stretchers. Image size: 81 x 60cm.
