A sensitive mid-20th-century study of the Loire, rendered in gentle Impressionist brushstrokes and soft pastel hues. In the foreground, a small rowing boat sits moored, while deer rest quietly in the grasses beyond. The trees are skilfully reflected in the calm surface of the river, whilst soft, fluffy clouds drift serenely across the sky above. Monogrammed to the lower left. Titled to the stretchers verso. Smartly presented in a painted frame. On canvas on stretchers.
