The artist has reduced the architecture into simplified geometric planes, creating a rhythmic patchwork of shapes that echo the rise and fall of a townscape. A crisp white house with a bold terracotta roof stands at the center, anchoring the composition, while a striking teal roof to the left provides a vibrant counterbalance.
Executed in a modernist, almost cubist-inspired manner, the piece emphasises flattened forms and spatial compression rather than strict realism. The brushstrokes are controlled yet textured, with clear delineations that carve out the roofs and walls in confident blocks of colour.
The palette blends earthy reds, deep browns, and muted greys with contrasting highlights of creamy whites and a vivid turquoise. This oil on board is presented in a very well suited linen-lined frame with an outer and inner grey border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some age wear but it is in good stable condition.
