A bold and abstract mid-century composition, painted in oil onto board.
This painting is composed of large, solid blocks of colour and thick, expressive brushstrokes. While not realistic, it suggests a natural scene, perhaps a sunset or sunrise over hills or a valley.
The upper half of the canvas is dominated by a clear, bright blue that could represent the sky. There is a large red circle positioned in the top right quadrant – this striking element resembles the sun or moon, radiating a powerful visual presence, anchoring the composition. Below the red circle is a sweeping shape in green, possibly representing a grassy hill or field, surrounded by brown, beige, and ochre, evoking earth or terrain.
There are small red marks scattered to the green and brown area, which add interest and detail and encourage you to look deeper at the painting, drawing you in.
