Portrait Of Captain Arthur George Coningsby Capell, dated 1915
by Charles A. Buchel (1872-1950)
Large 1915 English portrait of Captain Arthur Capell with family coats of arms, oil on canvas by Charles Buchel. Excellent example of the artists work and wonderful period piece. Tragically Capell died in action the same year as the portrait was completed. Presented in a stunning antique gilt frame made uniquely for the portrait.
Measurements: 25" x 20.5" framed approx
Provenance:
Redlynch House, Salisbury, Wiltshire
The sitter was killed in action at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, March 1915.
