A truly wonderful study of a gardener tending to his Italian garden. Chickens and hens peck in the courtyard whilst he waters the shrubbery. A terracotta roof peeks out from behind a swathe of olive trees. So masterfully painted, the naïve quality of the composition and subdued colour palette make this a wonderful original painting. Well presented in a vintage wood frame. Inscribed to the reverse. Monogrammed to the lower left. On board. Image size: 51 x 73cm.
