About the Item
Painted in an impressionist style this cityscape is a playful peek into the past. An evening stroll in 19th c Paris. Oil city lamps speckle the sidewalks and a horse drawn carriage approaches the viewer. The sun dropping low in the sky and leaves changing colour on the trees adds to the romantic feeling of this cityscape.
Canvas is 6.75” x 6.75” unframed.
Vadim Dolgov is a contemporary Toronto based Canadian artist with a traditional academic background. Russian born he began drawing and painting since his childhood and later he graduated from Orenburg Academy of Fine Art and Design where during five years he studied classical drawing, painting and sculpture. Dolgov’s art has been featured in international galleries and museums, such as the Carre D'Artistes Gallery in Paris and Bordeaux, France, and the International Guild of Realism’s traveling museum exhibition in the United States.

Vadim Dolgov
Vadim Dolgov is a Canadian artist born in Russia in 1962. He began drawing and painting as a child. In 1986, he graduated from Orenburg Academy of Art and Design, where he studied classical drawing, painting and sculpture for five years. He achieved first success when his painting was sold at the Hôtel Drouot auction house in Paris in 1991. In 1997, Dolgov was invited to join the group of artists for an inspirational 40 days-long plein air tour across India. The highlight of the journey was painting a portrait of a saint philosopher, Sripad Baba, which was commissioned by Vraja Academy in the city of Vrindavan, northern India. The works Dolgov painted during the trip and afterward were exhibited at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. In 1998, Dolgov moved to Canada, and since then his paintings have been exhibited and sold throughout the world.
