About the Item

Observing and understanding the world around us are the foundations of her reflections. Her approach to the world of Art has been largely influenced by the diversity of media underwritten by the Arts Décoratifs School of Art: etching, sculpture, photography and painting – a process which has led her to question the link between Nature and Man. The relation between our natural environment and physical matter - speaking of the «skin of the tree», of short-lived man and long-lasting nature – is, essentially, expressed through water and organic forms. The play of textures, reflections in water and in windows, images of branches metamorphosed into organs and my representations of human and natural essences invite us to enter a world of playfulness and reflection. This palpable physical experience gives rise to works both abstract and universal; it has also resulted in her environmental commitment. Taking possession of a subject to the point of abstraction leads her to experience and transmit to the world that subject’s very essence. In short, she tend to put Man back into his natural environment and the artist back into the world at large. Whereas her feelings of doubt and her need for background research and balance are expressed through drawing, painting gives expression to her more tangible feelings of plenitude and balance and touches upon the extraordinary, the unexpected and the magical. The artist's recent paintings reveal a significant evolution in his work, now evoking the passage from the silence of deep forests to luminous exaltation. Colors explore both vivid clarity and contrasting blacks and whites, creating visual silences that invite viewers to project their own imaginations. Golden, pinkish and iridescent hues rub shoulders with deep blues and ochres reminiscent of humus and mushrooms in symbiosis with trees. Each painting embodies the five elements and appeals to all five senses, enabling us not only to see, but also to touch with our eyes, smell the scents of the forest and hear the wind. The paintings and inks on paper reflect an immersive experience in which nature and its mysteries are both present and palpable. The artist creates a deep connection with the sylvan environment, celebrating the subtle communication between natural elements and humanity. Her work invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature, offering a sensory and emotional journey into the heart of the forest, testifying to a creative journey in perpetual renewal.
