About the Item

This captivating large oil painting on canvas depicts a dramatic seascape featuring a lone sailing ship navigating through turbulent ocean waves. The deep blue hues of the water contrast with the lighter tones of the sky, where a mixture of stormy clouds and a soft pink sunset create a moody and atmospheric backdrop. The ship, with its fully unfurled sails, appears to be battling against the elements, adding a sense of movement and intensity to the scene. The composition is beautifully framed by an ornate gold frame, enhancing its classical maritime appeal. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner, this masterful seascape is an excellent choice for collectors and enthusiasts of nautical artwork. Signed in the lower-right corner by Russian Artist Viktor Nikolayevich Ilyushkin (born 1946). This painting shares a strong thematic and stylistic resemblance to Ivan Aivazovsky (a famous Russian Artist and marine painter), particularly in its dramatic maritime composition, stormy atmosphere, and manner of depiction of transparent waves. Presented in a gorgeous ornate gold frame. Good condition. Framed measures 46.5" x 34", painting measures 36" x 24". Please see the photos, they are part of the description. Viktor Nikolayevich Ilyushkin is a landscape painter. He was born in 1946. He is descended from a Russian artistic family of Vereshchagins most famous of which was Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin, acclaimed painter-brutalist, who created the famous painting "Apotheosis of War". Viktor Nikolayevich is a former military man. He served in the army for 28 years. After graduating from the military school he served in Kozelsk where he was actively engaged in artistic activities. He participated in the creation of the best military museum of the division of that time. He participated in the first art exhibition of the USSR in Moscow receiving a first-degree diploma for his paintings. Now the artist lives in the town of Arkhipo-Osipovka where he creates beautiful landscapes of local nature, inspired by its beauty, as well as wonderful seascapes. _________________________ Please note that the physical colors of the item may vary from the pictures in the listing, given the quality of the camera, the lighting, and the background used We sell vintage and antique items.
