Fabulous scenic view of open rural land with a mountain in the far view.
The sky is powdery blue with the promise of a beautiful day soaking in the clean air and breathtaking view. You can see why this particular artist had a penchant for painting impressive mountains in open countryside.
We have several similar landscapes in stock by this incredible artist.
Colclough lived in Stockport and was Art Master at Stockport School from 1938 to 1978 (with a break for war time military service). There is little other biographical information however he was a skilled artist who specialised in mountain landscapes. His views of Snowdonia, the Highlands, the Lake District and the Peak District all have a wonderful mystical quality with ancient rocky peaks, swirling mists, and drifting clouds.
