This delightful study by William Bromley (1769-1842) depicts two children by a brook. The young boy holds a china teacup to the girls mouth as she takes a drink of water. The artist captures the idyllic countryside in fine detail adding to the charming nature of this pastoral scene. Signed faintly to the lower left. Beautifully presented in an ornate gilt frame with laurel and berry outer running patterns and a cove decorated with acanthus ornament. On canvas on stretchers.
