A beautiful large signed and dated 1943 English impressionsit oil on board depicting horses in a landscape at sunset, by William Ongley Miller.
Excellent quality and condition atmospheric work, presented in a fine painted gallery frame with swept centres and corners.
Artist: William Ongley Miller (English, 1883-1960)

Size: 22 x 34 inches (56 x 86 cm) including the frame
William Ongley Miller was an artist and teacher born in Haywards Heath, Sussex, the son of the artist Fred Miller.
He studied at Brighton College of Art, 1900–1906, and the Royal College of Art, 1906–1911. He went on to hold a number of art school teaching posts, being principal of Gravesend School of Art, 1924–1929.
Ongley Miller showed at the Royal Academy, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and elsewhere in the provinces.
Manchester City Art Gallery holds his picture "The Artist’s Daughter". He lived in Gravesend, Kent, then in Canonbury, north London.
