“Provincetown Flats” by Marcia Wise is a 12 x 16 inch contemporary oil painting from the artist’s collection of palette knife paintings and is in dominant tones of yellow, blues and purples with a hint of green and orange. This landscape painting on panel is framed in a 14 x 18 x 1 inch cherry float frame. This and others from this collection are completely done using palette knives and a method that allows all layers of paint to show through the finished piece. This painting is signed on the front by the artist.
Marcia Wise is a Massachusetts-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscape forms and patterns, light effects and reflections, and the play of textures. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally and internationally. Wise is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, MA.
