Loud Mouth - colorful surrealist portrait
Located in West Hollywood, CA
"Loud Mouth" is a surrealist multi-media sculptural painting made with acrylic, paper, fabric, beads on a canvas and wood. The figures' mouth, made from wood, extends past the painting bringing the painting to life. The lashes on the figure are extended with thread which has been sewn into the canvas. INSPIRATION BEHIND THE WORK - "'Loud Mouth' was brought to life via a string of impulses similar to the ones that may lead to someone being pegged as a "loudmouth." A "loudmouth" is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as "a person who tends to talk too much in an offensive or tactless way." In my experience, however, "loudmouth" is usually used to describe someone who fits into only the first part of that definition (talks "too much"), and as a result — regardless of what they're saying — is perceived as too loud. Surely, of course, there are also those that fall into the offensive or tactless zone, but this painting isn't about them. This painting is about those who are so busy being their wonderful selves, they don't have the time or care to consider how others perceive them. It is a celebration of being genuine and sticking out past expected boundaries because you are confident in the worth of your spill-over." - Artist Megan Dune...

"Rodeo Drive" - Playful Prada Painting by Surrealist Georgina Clapham
Located in West Hollywood, CA
This small vertical 15.5 inch high by 11.5 inch wide original oil painting on canvas is wired and ready to hang. This playful image features the Wicked Witch of Oz and the Easter Bunny buying Prada merchandise on the iconic Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The sides of the artwork are not painted and it does not require framing. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back of the artwork British painter Georgina Clapham conspicuously engages with story telling and theatricality, drawing together Renaissance portraiture, Greek Mythology, folklore, mysticism, animals, nature, the artificial, high fashion, subculture, gender, identity and sexuality, in her meticulous life size figurative paintings. Through the traditional media of oil paint on linen and intaglio printmaking, she creates her own contemporary mythologies. Staging her paintings using people in her everyday life, she infuses these timeless narratives with the intimacy and tangibility of her friendships and personal relationships drawing out their psychology and sexuality; as such, the works become as much a depiction of her own imagined narrative as of the individuals’ personality. She has previously attended City and Guilds of London Art School, 2013 and The Glasgow School of Art, 2014-16, where her work was purchased into the archive. In 2015 she was awarded The Richard Ford...
