About the Item
A sensually vibrant, quasi-expressionist painting of a Tram Station in the UK City of Manchester. It is called number 8 because it is the 8th version of this same scene I have painted over the years, all of them sold. This was painted over a long period of several years and when I began it the area looked different from when I finished it in that, new tall buildings seen in the background had been built and the area re-landscaped with new trees planted and so it had to be altered accordingly! I frequently reworked the colour harmonies and the crowd details in this painting until I achieved the results I wanted.
