Attributed to Isaac ISRAELS (1865-1934) Nude woman, from behind. Circa 1900 Oil on canvas, 81 x 45 cm Provenance Private collection, France The attribution of this painting is complex, as it likely dates from the artist's little-known Parisian period. Several historians specialize in the artist’s work; some refuse to attribute this painting to him, while others consider it plausible. In any case, the painting is indeed signed by the artist, and given the quality of the work, which corresponds to the correct period, if it were not by Isaac Israels—which seems unlikely—then it would be by another artist of equal significance.
