About the Item
This original woodcut and chine-collé print features a subtly abstract depiction of a nude woman, rendered with a delicate approach. The female figure is not bold or overpowering, but rather softly integrated into the composition. The print showcases vibrant colors that pulse with life, creating a dynamic contrast that draws the eye across the piece. Each element is thoughtfully arranged, with the soft, organic forms and the figure blending into the abstract surroundings. The result is a piece that feels both intimate and expansive.
A unique monoprint, there are no others like it, ensuring its place as a singular work of art. Its fluidity and abstract elements make it versatile, allowing it to be also displayed in a landscape orientation on the wall. The composition evokes the essence of water and distant isles, with swirling shapes and forms that suggest a connection to the natural world—perhaps an invitation to explore the subtle connection between the human form and the landscapes of the mind.
This print will suit beautifully in any space—whether it’s a bedroom, living room, or hallway—infusing the environment with its quiet strength and organic beauty. It is printed on Khadi handmade cotton paper, known for its exquisite texture and rough edges, which add a tactile element to the visual experience and further enhance the artwork’s natural, raw quality. The artwork is sold unframed. I would suggest a floating frame which allows the rough edges of the Khadi handmade cotton paper to be fully appreciated.
The combination of traditional techniques, vibrant color, and tactile materials creates a captivating visual experience, one that challenges traditional representations of the female form while offering a fresh, abstract perspective. This piece is an exploration of abstraction, femininity, and the beauty of subtlety. How will you choose to exhibit it?
