Franz Otto Scholderer (1834 - 1902) was a German painter.
His work is rooted in Romanticism, with influences from Impressionism.
During his career, he devoted himself first to landscapes, then to portraits and still lifes.
He lived for a long time in Paris and is represented on Henri Fantin-Latour's canvas,
Un atelier aux Batignolles (1870), alongside Édouard Manet, Auguste Renoir,
Zacharie Astruc, Émile Zola, Edmond Maître, Frédéric Bazille, Claude Monet.
Otto Scholderer's works have been auctioned many times, with realized prices ranging from US$1,042 to US$108,070, depending on the size and medium of the work. Since 2000, the record auction price for this artist has been US$108,070 for "Still Life with Pears and a Wineglass" sold at Van Ham Fine Art Auctions in 2012.
