Imposing original oil painting by Carles Got, a Barcelona-based painter of the postwar generation, firmly rooted in the great Catalan figurative tradition connected to artists such as Isidre Nonell, Joaquim Sunyer, Josep de Togores, and Rafael Benet, in its most intimate and silent expression.
The work depicts a large-scale female nude seen from the back, with strong mural presence, executed with confident and deeply human painting. The figure appears withdrawn and introspective, constructed with a rich, nuanced impasto that reveals a solid command of anatomy and direct work from the live model.
