About the Item
Painting depicting a girl dressed according to the fashion of the time. The luministic rendering of the dress, wide-brimmed hat, and red ribbon is expertly executed. The colors are vibrant and stand out against the dark background. The high-quality style and pictorial rendering allow us to attribute the painting to Egisto Lancerotto, famous for his female portraits, who was active in the second half of the 19th century until 1916. The original format of the painting does not correspond to the present one; in fact, the dimensions were reduced resulting in an oval. The painting is accompanied by a passe-partout and a coeval Venetian frame.
