Beautiful 19th century frame in gilded wood
Eliseo Meifrén Roig is a Spanish impressionist painter. After studying at the Escola de la Llotja in Barcelona, he went to Paris in 1879. Meifren then produced small canvases, portraits and small urban landscapes. He then traveled to Italy and returned to Spain in 1881 where he began to participate in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. Then in 1892, Meifren returned to Paris and began working with the French impressionists. He enjoyed success at the end of the 19th century when he exhibited both in South America and in Europe.
Our painting may be one of those small paintings that Meifren painted at the beginning of his career when he came to Paris in 1879.

Beautiful 19th century gilded wood frame
Henri Langerock was a Belgian painter born in Ghent but who worked in France and died in Marseille. He also traveled a lot, in France and abroad. Langerock first became known for his landscapes of France (Vosges, Picardy, Ardèche...). Then he traveled to Egypt and Brazil between 1878 and 1885, as well as to black Africa.
He exhibited his painting of a traveling painter at the Paris Salon until 1901.
