Each painting in the series is a vibrant homage to the rich tapestry of hairstyles and textures inherent in Black culture, exploring how hair is not just a physical attribute, but a resonant symbol of beauty, strength, and unity.
- About Artist
Born on the 17th of January, Fasalejo Tobiloba Moses is a Nigerian visual artist. A native of Ondo state. He lived the better part of his life in the ancient city of Ondo where he was brought up. Moses started art as a passion right from childhood.
He is a disciplined artist who creates speculative works that expose black identity. He kept on exploring different mediums such as painting and drawing techniques, which is one of the mediums he used in creating works in the past years, some of which he exhibited at the Lasgidi Cultural Arts Festival of Colors and as well as life in my city art festival and was opportune to be one of the top 100 artists across the country. At present, he is digging deeper into the use of textured canvas and acrylic for painting. His thematic disposition spans from concepts captured from the immediate environment which are sociocultural, psychological, and religious. He is presently studying fine art at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (ACE Ondo)
