This superb British Impressionist portrait oil painting is by noted female artist Florence Kate Upton. Born in America to English parents, Upton visited Britain with her family aged 20 and remained here to further her art career. Although a children's book illustrator, Upton was first a painter and exhibited at the Paris Salon and the Royal Academy.
