Portrait of the artist's mother, Margaret Armfield née Maxwell, depicted full length in a mock entourage with the Maxwell Clan crest depicting a stag lying in front of a holly under the motto ""Reviresco ""(I blossom again) lower right, monogrammed lower left, Flemish tempera and gesso on cox laid paper on cardboard, 37cm x 29.5cm.
