About the Item
"Inner Strength" is a contemporary acrylic painting portraying a faceless woman with flowing brown hair against a rich dark orange background. The woman’s face is divided into two contrasting shades—light brown and deep pink—symbolizing the duality of strength and sensitivity.
This powerful portrait belongs to Natalya Mougenot’s ongoing “Women” series, a deeply personal exploration of feminine identity, resilience, and transformation. As Natalya shares, “My women series is a reflection of the many facets of womanhood—strength, vulnerability, and emotional depth. Each painting is an intimate dialogue between my own journey and the universal experience of being a woman.”
"Inner Strength" represents a pivotal moment in the artist’s creative evolution—a testament to her expanded understanding of the world and herself. “A modern woman,” Natalya explains, “is a warrior with a kind heart and a sensitive soul.” Through this work, she invites viewers to witness that complex balance, conveyed with bold simplicity and emotional honesty.
Natalya’s artistic process is intuitive and fearless: “I trust myself completely and embrace experimentation. The key is to immerse fully in creativity and allow the work to reveal itself naturally. It’s about capturing raw emotion, not perfection.”
Created with acrylic paints on heavyweight paper, the piece is finished with a protective varnish to guard against dust and fading. Sold unframed, it arrives ready to hang or frame according to your personal taste.
Photos showcasing the painting in various frame styles are provided for inspiration.
This unique, one-of-a-kind original painting is signed on the front and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. It will be carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard box with bubble wrap and shipped promptly from France.
Please note that colors may vary slightly between the original artwork and images due to photography and monitor settings.
About the Artist:
Originally from Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and now based in Lyon, France, Natalya Mougenot has spent over two decades refining her artistic voice. Her multicultural background and personal experience inform her bold, expressive works, which have found homes in private collections around the world.
Natalya’s distinctive visual language blends Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Naïf, and Art Brut—resulting in paintings that are raw, instinctive, and emotionally resonant. Across her work, three values guide her: authenticity, sincerity, and honesty.
“Authenticity is everything,” she says. “People can always feel when something is real—or when it’s not. I want my work to be honest, to come from a place that’s true.”
In addition to painting, Natalya is also a passionate photographer. Her photographic work—also featured on this platform—mirrors her painterly sensibility: a poetic, observational approach that captures the quiet power of everyday life. For her, photography is both inspiration and a form of presence, often serving as visual sketches for future paintings or existing as standalone works.

Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.
