Housed in a 4" Period Ornamented Newcomb-Macklin Frame in Gold Metal Leaf.
A very interesting American artist who spent most of his career first in France and later in Bavaria, and unfortunately dying at the age of 42.
His early works are in an academic style, with excellent details and coloration, while his work after 1893 changed to a more ethereal style bases largely on Wagner compositions.
A great example of work from the Belle Epoque.
