About the Item
In Ritchelly Oliveira's evocative painting, the stark contrast of black and white sets the stage for a profound exploration of human vulnerability and connection. At the forefront of the composition lies a man, depicted in a moment of vulnerability as he lies down, his body gently stretching towards the observer. His outstretched hand reaches out, palm upturned, as if extending an invitation or plea for understanding.
Nestled within the palm of his hand rests a bird, mirroring the man's pose as it also lies down. This bird, symbolic of fragilities, serves as a poignant reminder of the delicate aspects of the human experience. Its presence within the man's hand suggests an intimate relationship between vulnerability and humanity, highlighting the interconnectedness of our emotions and struggles.
Through his masterful use of monochromatic tones, Oliveira captures the essence of this intimate moment with striking clarity. The absence of color heightens the emotional impact of the scene, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the raw vulnerability depicted on the canvas.
As with much of Oliveira's work, this painting delves into themes of love, fragility, and the experiences of black individuals. By intertwining these elements within the composition, Oliveira offers a profound commentary on the universal nature of human emotion and the power of connection to transcend barriers of identity and experience.

Ritchelly Oliveira, visual artist, began his work in 2012, shortly after enter visual arts at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), he found
human figure a margin to present his speech about what he
understands the deeper aspects of emotional relationships. He works about what he suspects to be love and, believing that this is a universal feeling. Believing that affective relationships are built from the individual and
as their surroundings interfere with them, he tries to rescue the possibility
to construct discourses about love, especially black love. The importance
to reflect together on issues such as sexuality, responsibility
affective and colorism are necessary canons in this invitation to fulfill the ideals
dangerous and exclusionary forms of romantic love that circulate in our environments.
