Tanvi Pathare from India attended the Florence Art Academy where she was a student of Daniela Astone. She has since succeeded the latter as a teacher at this world-famous academy.
This artist, born in Mumbai, India, graduated cum laude from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. After Tanvi Pathare graduated from the art academy in the capital of India, her great wish came true and she was allowed to go to Florence for twelve weeks. She eventually followed the entire, years-long, program of the Florence Academy of Art. She received the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for Painting. The artist is currently head instructor at the art academy in Florence. She also works in her own studio in Florence, from where her work goes to her galleries in New York, Milan and Nuenen.
Her Indian roots, together with her classical art education in Italy, have created a special style and view of color that can be found in her work. Her loose impressionistic touch gives her work a special softness.
