Large 19th century landscape of Garibaldi's Redshirt in camp with an officer in the foreground, oil on canvas. Excellent quality rare circa 1860 history painting of Garibaldi's famous Redshirts encampment. Needs restoring which we are undertaking and is included in our price. Framed. Early and important original account of the Redshirts during the unification of Italy.
Provenance: The contents of Meldon Park, purchased in 1910.
