by PHILIP VILLAMIL OF JAMAICA (1814-1878)
Large 19th Century portrait of a lady wearing a turban, possibly a concubine or odalisque, smoking a cigarette, oil one canvas by Philip Villamil. Excellent quality and original condition presented in its original antique orientalist frame. Signed lower right. Villamil, originally born in Jamaica, travelled extensively throughout Europe and North Africa where the inspiration for this portrait would have derived from.
