A great 19th century folk art painting of a young boy posed, carefully holding thorny flowers between two fingers. His belt buckle has initials monogrammed, the last being an 'A' possibly matching the last name of the artist.
This painting is signed indistinctly, and dated lower left.
We believe this work was created by a professional artist of the time, and it certainly has a special charm about it.
The painting is housed in a period frame, which appears to be European, possibly Danish.
