About the Item
Victor Manuel: 1897-1969. Well listed Cuban artist who has auction results as high as $319,000. He as an early member of the "Vanguardia" movement of artists who in beginning of 1920s combined European concepts of modernism with their own native primitivism, to create a uniquely Cuban aesthetic. Portraits of women seems to be his favorite subject matter. This striking portrait appears to be a mix of gouache, watercolor and possibly charcoal on paper. It measures approximately 14 inches high by 11 wide. The frame measures 17 1/2 inches high by 14 1/2 wide. P.S. Sorry for the reflections in pics, but glass is very reflective.

Victor Manuel is an emerging talent born and raised in Havana.
