About the Item
This is a Post -Wa painting with a great date of 1957. The way he has abstracted the clouds and bird forms is typical of this time frame as artists were experimenting with symbols and forms in place of representational elements. It is atmospheric and a great size for certain mantles or spots that require or want a longer and thinner format!!!
A great urban apartment painting that goes well with post modern furniture!!!
Della-Volpe was one of the artists who returned from the war and did very abstract expressionist work but then reverted back to recognizable elements in his work. He moved toward a "colorist" approach and is know for his great color palettes. He is often noted as saying his works are about color and rhythm!
The canvas size is 26 x 48 so the size listed is the framed dimensions.
The frame is a 18 karat leafed frame of contemporary feel and is high quality.
