Spanish painter, born 1923 in Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real). After the Civil War he moved with his family from Madrid to Alcoy (Alicante), where at an early age attends evening classes in drawing.
In 1942 he entered the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos of Valencia and two years later it will in the San Fernando in Madrid, where he is a disciple of Vázquez Diaz and Juan Adsuara in which he graduated in 1948 as professor of drawing. Expands two training courses in the sculpture workshop Pérez Comendador. Travels to the United States in 1953 thanks to a grant from the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and attends classes at Columbia University in New York; in 1954 he travels to Guinea pensioned by the Institute of African Studies. It will subsequently Italy, Norway, China, Korea and Japan.
It definitely installed in Spain is dedicated to teaching drawing, occupying in 1966 the chair of that matter at the Complutense University until 1988, the date of his retirement.
His first exhibition in 1951 at the Biosca gallery of Madrid and is selected that year by Eugenio d'Ors for the "Salon de los Once". Since then he held numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Spain and abroad and attends competitions and artistic contests in which he has won numerous awards. Among them are several Medals of National Exhibition of Fine Arts (1952, 54 and 57), the National Painting Prize (1954), the pampana Gold at the National Valdepeñas (1970) and the First Prize for Painting of Valdepeñas (1982).
His painting is always kept within the figurative, but without regard to reality, to a mere reproductive performance. mainly cultivated landscape and still life, which develops a true display of color orchestration and which boasts a great understanding of the volumes that go beyond the contours of the drawing. Pebble is a great teacher in the transformation through his brushes of matter in color. His figure in the panorama of painting in recent decades is exaggerated and prestige within the framework of the so-called School of Madrid, it is ascending.

Still Life with Pitcher
Located in London, GB
'Still Life with Pitcher', oil on paper, by Charles Réal (circa 1950s). Still-lifes make voyeurs out of all of us. No matter the era to which they belong, they always give us the sense that we’re spying on a table set for a night of gluttony or perhaps, romance. Whatever is set on the still-life table can transport us to another place limited only by our imaginations. What is not well known is that those tabletop items often had coded meanings. The secret meanings behind the paintings and their unofficial language spawned several sub-genres, including floral still life, breakfast paintings...
