Absolutely beautiful original painting by Bernard Fouchet (French 1932-2013). The work is signed to the front and back and titled verso too. Very rarely, it looks like the frame was custom made for or by the artist - as the monogram of BF is part of the moulding.
The painting radiates colour and vibrancy, with this eclectic mix of still life objects on a table, set against this red/ orange backdrop of colours. Beautiful.
Condition report:
the painting is in very good condition. The frame has a couple of 'nibbles' to the corners but is fine.

An appealing pair of still life paintings by Oliver Clare. The first painting shows primroses and lilac blossom next to a red berry. In the second, damsons can be seen next to apples and a strawberry.
Oliver Clare was born in Birmingham in 1853, the son of the flower artist George Clare (1839-1890) and his wife Elizabeth Bowen. His brother Vincent Clare (1856-1917) also became an artist and both would have received tuition from their father who influenced their style and subject matter. At the age of 18 he enlisted as a soldier in the Kings Own regiment, but gave this up to become a full time artist. Like his father, Clare specialised in still life paintings, containing fruit and garden flowers, often on mossy banks.

DNA is genetic information, hidden and encrypted in body fluids. Veiled data that we load, that we do not know and that someone knows how to decipher. Such specifications characterize us in our concrete individuality, make us unrepeatable and yet resist us. That chain of molecules constitutes a conglomerate of clues that someone elucidates because we do not know how to read it. We do not know the links that make up that nucleic acid that delineates us and characterizes us genetically. Curious phenomenon of not having access to such precise and accurate data about oneself. They skimp on us, they deny us despite having more authority than anyone to know their own characteristics. This contemporary oil painting depicting a metropolitan view is the work of realist painter Patty Neal. The painting offers an intimate view of the city, as seen from a window, as it peeks from behind two metal structures. The dark browns and bright golds beautifully compliment the dusty blue, gray sky. Neal works highlight everyday city scenes, utilitarian infrastructure, and industrial or electrical apparatus.
Artist statement:
A life is an accumulation of experiences: visual, emotional and mental. By compartmentalizing these snippets of life we create boundaries. The focus of my work for many years has been the exploration of these various life aspects and how they are bound together or bound from each other. My process is often literally composed of boundaries. I make a painting by putting together multiple panels, or I segment a single panel into separate visual spaces. The works are made up of pieces or elements of city and landscape. While exploring the concepts of boundaries I play with visual “reality.” Sometimes I combine images that are upside down with those that are not and juxtapose images from different contexts. Literal boundaries, such as walls fences, expanses of water and highway median strips are also used. My intent is to invite viewers to look beyond these boundaries to see the possibilities of a connected whole.
