We're proud to introduce Dutch/ German artist Bart Koning.
Incredibly clever how the originally Dutch Bart Koning knows how to make all subjects his subject in a completely unique way.
Shortly after his studies at “De Rietveld academie” the artist left for Germany where he has lived and worked for many decades now. The artist creates his hyper-realistic work in all possible dimensions. From a few cm to a few meters in diameter. In Germany, Koning has had a number of sold-out exhibitions. Nevertheless, the originally Dutch artist finds this exhibition a new highlight in his beautiful career in his native country.
His tranquil still lifes are not sleek and are meticulously composed. His balanced paintings, on panel and without frame, in no way show how the artist proceeded. The soothing matte skin of the work in combination with the balanced palette and the tranquil environment of the objects looks special and different. In the work of Bart Koning, the subjects are carefully and hyper realistically painted, but the composition gives this highly realistic representation almost an abstract division of the surface.
