A beautiful 1950's French cubist oil on canvas depicting a studio still life with artist's palette, brushes and bowl of cherries by Béatrice Appia.
Rare and sought after work by this very interesting female artist who enrolled at the academy of André Lhote in 1950 and quite possibly executed this work whilst studying there.
Presented in a beautiful painted and gilded reverse profile frame. Signed/inscribed on the reverse.

Béatrice Appia was born in Geneva and studied art in the Hague. Her first solo exhibition was staged in Paris in 1924 to much acclaim. After developing an interest in Cubism she enrolled at the Lhote Academy in 1950.
