Vintage Still Life Oil Painting - Orange Teapot on Purple Background
Painterly still life piece by Loomis, California artist Betty Thomas (American, 20th Century.) An orange teapot sits in the center of the composition, with its lid removed and placed next to it. The material appears to reflect light and a variety of colors from its surroundings. The space behind the teapot is dark with a deep purple tone. This deep purple is once again seen, along with the orange of the teapot, reflected in the light surface on which the teapot sits.
Signed bottom right corner "Tomas 73" (Thomas)
Sticker affixed to verso identifies painter as "Betty Thomas"
Frame size: 17.88" H x 14" W
Canvas size: 16" H x 12" W
Betty Thomas was an artist active in California during the 1970s. She exhibited at the Robinson's Red Door Gallery in Morro Bay.
