About the Item
Late 20th century oil on board of a colourful still-life, fruit and a coffee pot by Bill Brown. Signed and dated 1979 to the bottom left and signed, titled and dated to the reverse. Presented in a wooden frame.
A wonderfully colourful tablescape still-life of fruit (orange, mandarin, apple and pear) resting on a table beside a silver coffee pot. The deep ochre red of the backdrop sets off the colours of the fruits and contrasts with the shining silver of the coffee pot.
The artist has used light and shade to full effect beautifully highlighting the fruits and the coffee pot lid. The whole subject has great energy due to lively brushstrokes and the vivid contrasting colours of the fruits.
