Every canvas represents its own journey as paint is layered and balanced to create exquisite colour relationships, provoking both thought and emotion. Taking months to complete, each piece becomes an evolving record of the painting process offering glimpses into the hidden history of its creation. She is known for the bold expression of her large pieces which are full of texture, energy and vibrancy. Her small canvases, which have become popular exhibited in grids, offer an endless variety of shades and brush strokes and create a unique artwork with every composition. Graduating from Falmouth University in 2002 with a BA Hons in Fine Art, Kelly finds her inspiration in the freedom, bravery and liberty of The New York School artists. Expressionists of the 1940s and 50s such as Franz Kline, Willem de Kooning and Helen Frankenthaler incite confidence in her use of paint. 'Still Life on a White Tablecloth' is an original painting by Deborah Windsor. It is a delightful small vases of summer flowers, a cactus and other objects sit on a crisp white tablecloth in this large Still Life painting. Deborah Windsor, painter and printmaker, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. Deborah grew up in the Kent countryside surrounded by animals and nature and started painting with her mother who was a portrait painter at a very young age. After art college Deborah co-founded a ran a successful ceramic design business in Portobello Road, London, designing, making and selling contemporary ceramics and undertaking commissions for well know media clients. Moving back to Kent in her thirties Deborah taught art and returning to painting, her first love, developed her still-life painting style. Deborah works in oil and acrylics building up her paintings with layers and washes to achieve depth and richness. Pattern, texture, decoration, shapes and colour are all important elements in her work. Working from life is vital to Deborah so that she can capture the essence of her subject. Jugs and vases spill over with fresh flowers and she will often paint part of one of her abstract paintings in the background to add an extra element to the composition.
