About the Item
This still life was painted under the impression of the work of the 20th century Italian still life master Giorgio Morandi. However, it is not a literal imitation of his style, but rather reveals its own motif and techniques in a similar vein. The range of the still life is maintained in close silver, pearl, mother-of-pearl, olive and pinkish shades. The technique of writing is close to pointillism, when dotted strokes of close but different shades give rise to optical mixing and complex relationships of color shades. Objects seem to dissolve in these strokes and make themselves known by highlights, barely noticeable outlines. They are transparent, literally being glass. Only the silk drapery is the most material and stands out against the general background with luminous highlights of folds.
The gallery presents Dmitry Yevtushenko, a professional artist who lives and works in Germany. Dmitry graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In art, he prefers to follow the traditions of craftsmanship, multiplied by direct impressions from what he has seen and experienced. And never stops improving his craftsmanship and artistic language.
Dmitry has participated in several dozen group and solo exhibitions in Russia and Germany. The artist's works are in private collections in the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, etc. A number of portraits are in the collection of the A. A. Bakhrushin Theatre Museum. In 2007, the publishing house "White City" released a monograph with reproductions of his paintings in the series "Masters of Painting".
