About the Item

Important painting "Still life" oil on canvas of the second half of the 800 by the great artist Aémile-Auguste Vivier-Deslandes called "Baron Deslandes". Of rare intensity and beauty this painting has an evocative power without equal, so as to be able to approach the works of his compatriot and predecessor Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin. Signed top right Stamps of exposition on the back of the painting One pair available This painting, never before on the market, comes from a private collection and is beautified by an impressive antique frame in natural wood, in almost perfect condition. Every item of our Gallery, upon request, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Sabrina Egidi official Expert in Italian furniture for the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and for the Rome Civil Courts. Aémile-Auguste Vivier-Deslandes called “Baron Deslandes” (Florence 6 January 1832 -Paris 23 February 1917). Great painter of still life and marine born in Italy but of French school where he spent a large part of his life. Since 1894 an associate of the "Société des Artistes Français", performing in the Salon des Artists as "Baron Deslandes". He was in his youth a French naval officer who received the Médaille Militaire, was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1858, and became an administrator and diplomat. A descendent of Pauline Bonaparte, sister of Napoléon I, he was created the first Baron Vivier-Deslandes by Napoléon III in 1862, the year of his marriage, through the resurrection of an extinct family title. His maternal grandmother, Angelica Catalani (1780-1849) had been painted by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. He became a painter who by 1894 was an associate of the Society of French artists, exhibiting in the Salon as Baron Deslandes.
