About the Item

After the Bloom” is an original oil painting painted from life. The composition is deliberately quiet: a simple vessel and a dried plant placed in soft natural light. The subject is modest, yet it holds a strong presence — an atmosphere of stillness that invites contemplation. The work reflects on a moment after vibrancy has faded. The plant is no longer in bloom, yet it retains structure, memory, and a quiet dignity. This stage — often overlooked — reveals a different kind of beauty: subtle, textural, and enduring. Painted in thin, harmonious layers, the surface shows measured brushwork and a restrained, earthy palette. The vase is rendered with gentle tonal transitions, while the plant introduces a warm contrast, giving the scene a grounded and balanced mood. This painting brings a sense of calm clarity to a space. It works especially well in interiors that value simplicity, natural materials, and thoughtful detail. - Technique: Layered alla prima with controlled glazing accents - One of a kind Elena Bulatova is a Munich-based painter working primarily in oil, often in the alla prima technique. Born in Moscow, Russia in 1981, she received early training in a children’s art school, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to painting. Her artistic practice is rooted in academic traditions, yet she continuously seeks freedom and individuality in her work. Bulatova often paints en plein air, working directly from life to capture the essence of a moment with immediacy and sensitivity. She is especially drawn to subjects found in her everyday surroundings—landscapes, people, portraits, and the human figure—exploring the natural beauty and quiet poetry of the visible world. Over the past twenty years, Bulatova has developed her skills through a combination of self-directed study and mentorship with experienced artists. She has studied in diverse settings, including traditional icon painting in Moscow and the AktHof in Munich. Currently, she is enrolled as an external student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, deepening her engagement with classical technique and contemporary practice. The gallery guarantees the uniqueness and high quality of this work of art, confirmed by a certificate of authenticity.
